Krisiun was formed in the beginning of the 90’s with the intention to play something really fast and brutal, so, that is the representation of their feelings of hatred from the band’s beginning. They do not give a sh!t for all this trendy cr@p around, they are going to keep doing that as brutal and as fast as they can.
Can you tell us something more about your latest release?
Apocalyptic Revelation was recorded at Music Lab Studios in Germany during the first days of 1998. Besides the better sound quality, this album had turned out with intense speed and brutality towards the conquest of the new millenium. Listen to that, and take your own conclusions.
Who writes the lyrics? What are the main topics? Where does the inspiration come from?
Myself and Moyses, the guitarist. The main topics are about our feelings of hatred, guided by the s@t@nic prophecy of revenge and honour. Against the weak and false ones. We are here to defy and conquer. Inflicting blasphemous truth for this f*cked up world, inspiration can come up from wherever/whatever around you.
What reactions do you get?
Our reactions are always into our music. I mean, the stuff that we do besides music has always to do with our music. Like the practice of martial arts, for example.
What do you think of your latest release yourself?
We are really satisfied with the responses of our last album. Apocalyptic Revelation has broke many barriers, for an extreme Brazilian metal band. Anyway, we are now building the songs for the next one, I mean, we are now totally fixed on the next thing.
Are you still in touch with G.U.N. records?
Not at all, we are not expecting anymore. We are moving out from G.U.N. records to a very cool and mighty Black/Death Metal label. We are going to get a better distribution and so on.
Did you perform across the borders of Brazil?
Yeah, we did, we have played in several parts of Europe, such as Austria, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain, France, Brussels, Czech Republic. We did a f*cking great 25 days tour all around USA and for sure lots of gigs in our homeland South America. We have already played with some huge bands, but it does not mean that we like all of them. Some of them are: ANGEL CORPSE, INCANTATION, NAPALM DEATH, KREATOR, DIMMU BORGIR, CRADLE OF FILTH.
Can you describe a KRISIUN-gig?
Technical speed, shredding evil frenetic leads, blasting fury, merciless domination, blasphemous evocation; if you doubt, you are invited to figure out at some of our gigs, just do not forget to bring up some cool weed and the girls of your neighbourhood.
How many letters does KRISIUN receive a day?
Between 5 and 10. Sometimes more, sometimes less.
What are you listening to right now? Name a song/poem for your funeral.
Now I am listening to f*cking MORBID ANGEL. And I really do not know what song I would like to be played on my funeral. Maybe a song that has something to do with the way that I am going to die. Just a song and no poems.
What are your favourite bands?
ANGEL CORPSE, DIABOLIC, MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, MARDUK, old SLAYER, TERRORIZER, CENTURIAN, ANCESTRAL MALEDICTION, IMMORTAL, MALEVOLENT CREATION, INCANTATION, MOTORHEAD.
What is your ultimate playlist?
MORBID ANGEL – Altars of Madness
MORBID ANGEL – Covenant
ANGEL CORPSE – Exterminate
DEICIDE – Deicide
SLAYER – Reign in Blood
What can we expect from the new songs?
Supernatural rites of profanation and revenge. Evocation of death’s supremacy, which will lead to the gate of no return and devour the flesh and soul of those who defy. Musically talking, we are always trying to improve, we never turned back, as I said before we are going to keep playing as brutal and as fast as f*cking hell, we are Metal to the bone, until the f*cking end.
What is the available merchandising stuff?
CD Apocalyptic Revelation, CD Black Force Domain, T-shirts and long sleeves, Apocalyptic Revelation, Black Force Domain, Rises from Black, all two-sided. High-quality video, recorded at the house Whisky A Gogo, Hollywood California.
What do you think of today’s Metal/underground scene? Which Belgian bands do you like? Any promising bands in Brazil?
The Metal scene of today is filled of ups and downs, I mean, there are many serious bands, magazines, distros and so on, trying to keep the spirit of Metal alive. Otherwise there are is many bullsh!t f*cking the scene up. Like evil Black Metal fakers. And for sure all that depressed influences like Gothic, Dark, alternative… that sucks for me, Metal must be pure. That is why real Metal bands are branding their own mark on the scene.
I know some Belgian bands, but I am not really pointed about it to tell you something correct. I know ENTHRONED and ANCIENT RITES and I like their previous releases.
The promising bands from Brazil, in my view, are the following: OPHIOLATRY, FUNERATUS, ANCESTRAL MALEDICTION, ABHORRENCE, REBEALLIUN, ANESTHESIA.
What about alcohol?
Beer and strong drinks. Jack with Coke, German dark and regular beer.
Job or studies or side-activities?
None.
Vinyl or CD or tape?
Whatever, I mean, it does not matter in which format the stuff gets released, but how good or bad the music is.
What is the last demo you bought?
The last interesting demos that I have got are from some Brazilian bands: ANCESTRAL MALEDICTION, OPHIOLATRY.
What is your life’s philosophy?
My personal philosophy is about the manifestations and ambitions of my own being, I am in constant search/fight for the things that I believe and wish. My goals are my gods, I am king of my own domain, ruled by the mystical and unlimited power of those who have the energy to try / wish / constroy / create. This is not about occult lessons taken from books, this is about my personal feelings.
At what age did you start listening to Metal? What was the first Metal album you bought?
I have started to listen to Metal when I was 13. My first album was Let There Be Rock (AC/DC).
What are the plans for the future?
Keeping the spirit of (extreme) Metal alive. We are going to play at the f*cking Milwaukee Metal fest in the USA and I think that will be a great step for us and for the whole brutal maniacs.
Some last words to the readers?
Thanks for the ones which have supported the real Metal, keep in your f*cking minds, Metal never dies. Thanks Throne of Absence for the great opportunity, Kutulu calls.
Thanks, Alex & KRISIUN!
